Originally formed in
London in 2016 by ex-Not Cool vocalist Matt Gilbert, Echo Lake guitarist Thom Hill, Will Riley and Dayo James. S / M played a handful shows before parting ways after Matt, Will and Dayo relocated to North America. Matt & Thom continued to write and exchange ideas, from NY and London respectively, eventually recording The Hanged Man, an LP written across several years.
